Dimension Data (DiData) last week announced its intention to acquire Bellerephon, an Australian IT consultancy organization that designs, plans and delivers Microsoft IT infrastructure and management solutions in both the server and desktop environments. The value of the proposed deal has not been determined.

Bellerephon, according to MD, Nic Beaugeard, focuses on developing Intellectual Property (IP) that is re-usable, and can be applied across various corporate environments. He says the company"s packaged and templated IP solutions enable reduced deployment times, as well as lower costs for clients.

The partnership between the two companies, according to Beaugeard, started approximately 10 months ago, when Bellerephon began doing work for the company in Australia.

Beaugeard says the deal is "an awesome partnership, which will enable Bellerephon to grow globally, and provide a springboard to grow relationships with other companies".

"This is new for us because we have not focused on systems management in the desktop environment," says GM for the operational environment at DiData, Anton Jooste. He adds that DiData"s customers have identified services in the desktop environment as a need, and that the deal will enable the company to satisfy that requirement.

Adds Curt Wheadon of DiData: "Bellerephon"s IP complements our current capabilities, and will enable us to upgrade our clients" Microsoft technology more efficiently and cost-effectively. Bellerephon"s customer engagement model for the planning, deployment and management of Microsoft solutions aligns closely with DiData"s plan, build and support strategy."

Bellerephon says it uses a combination of smart technology, well defined and documented processes, embedded logic, template-driven documentation and skilled resources to engage with customers in the planning, design and delivery of management systems. It maintains a centralized library of packaged applications, certified for Windows XP, which, it believes, enables a consistent delivery of managed infrastructure solutions.

"We are already working together with DiData to deliver ?pre-integrated" solutions to customers faster and at a fixed cost. It is natural for us to now extend our current relationship and become a part of DiData, which has the expertise to operate the solutions that we deliver, ensuring incremental value to our clients," notes Beaugeard.

Although Bellerephon"s primary focus is on management of the Microsoft server and desktop environment, Beaugeard states that its solution set is not exclusive to Microsoft, and is extensible to other technology platforms as well. Jooste says the company has no plans for further acquisitions in Australia ?at the moment".
