ATO tenders for chief architect

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is tendering for an enterprise architect to lead its existing change management project until June 30, 2007.

Documents state final delivery for phase 3 of the three-year project is scheduled for 2007. The enterprise architect is needed to plan, initiate and complete corporate requirements or aid integration for project teams.

Deadline for the tender is November 17, 2006. The tender states the successful applicant will be responsible for defining the structure, services and information provided by each component of the enterprise architecture, as well as mentoring personnel

"The enterprise architect will perform modelling of enterprise architecture and IT strategy information to answer specific focus questions, support for architects and strategists in using the tools (primarily Metis) and methods adopted by the Tax Office; and project management of delivery of extensions to the enterprise architecture modelling and reporting capability," the tender states.

"All roles expect some reliance on highly developed design and modelling skills, particularly object orientated or information modelling skills in the applications space, and an understanding of IT strategy.

"Under minimum direction, the enterprise architect will plan, initiate and complete the more complex tasks involved in supporting the practice of enterprise architecture, and resolve issues related to corporate requirements or integration for project teams. Some of the more central tasks may include the maintenance of complex models of IT systems, evaluation of the suitability of the standard modeling and publication tools to the business needs; and management of the delivery of models, content and publications."
