Verity on Monday rolled out Version 4.0 of LiquidOffice, which embeds the company"s full-text enterprise search technology with BPM software.

LiquidOffice 4.0 offers built-in capabilities for searching, monitoring, testing, and deploying processes. Infusing enterprise search based on Verity"s K2 technology into BPM helps provide visibility into hundreds of real-time processes that are critical to the enterprise, according to Suresh Ramaswamy, vice president of BPM strategy at Verity.

"By being able to search process content, you can tap into all the information that is in flight as part of a process. No longer do you have to wait for processes to complete and [be updated] in a traditional repository," Ramaswamy said.

The LiquidOffice BPM platform offers a visual environment for modeling and testing workflows, process orchestration, reporting and analytics functions, and Web services based APIs for connecting to other systems and applications.

The product dynamically updates the process index in every step of the process, Ramaswamy added.

New in LiquidOffice 4.0 are bolstered scalability and HTML electronic signature validation. Other enhancements include expanded tracking and auditing capabilities that can log system administrator activities, such as changing rights and permissions in the management console, and can track end-user views of forms-based content, according to Verity officials.

The integration of search and BPM helps elevate both technologies, according to Ramaswamy. "Enterprise search is usually happening in the context of a business process," he said.
