Developed by Progress Software partner, I-Soft Solutions, Omnix is designed to enable the centralization of the company's financial system and management of its online branches. "For the first time our branches can exercise proper credit, stock and purchasing controls," says Jonathan Stones, director of IT and business development at Goodyear Holdings.

Omnix can be customized to individual requirements, and can run both GUI and character terminals simultaneously. In addition, it does not require massive bandwidth to run on wide area networks (WANs).

According to Sue Clague, director of I-Soft Solutions, the Omnix implementation proceeded very smoothly, with I-Soft customizing the point of sale for TrenTyre's specific requirements over a 12-month period.
