Mariner rebrands ReceiptWallet as Paperless

17.04.2009
Mariner Software has announced the forthcoming release of 1.0, a rebranded version of the shareware product ReceiptWallet. It will cost US$45 when it's released later this month.

Paperless lets you scan or import receipts and other paperwork, using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and other data entry aids to help recognize and categorize receipts and documents as PDF files. The software features built-in search capabilities that help you find and organize receipts and documents into collections.

Features include the ability to track expenses for taxes; create expense reports; create searchable PDF files for owner's manuals or other documents, create "Smart Collections" that automatically create collections based on selected criteria; export data in .csv for Excel or .qif for Intuit's Quicken software; secure data using password protection and encryption; and maintain separate libraries for home and multiple businesses.

A trial version will be released.

Registered users of ReceiptWallet will be able to upgrade to Paperless for free. The first release of Paperless will contain "minor aesthetic and branding improvements," but Mariner indicates that more features and bug fixes will be released later.

Paperless requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
