Yahoo's top mobile exec to depart

, whom Yahoo acquired in 2005 when the super-portal bought mobile syncing company Verdisoft, is leaving the company. BoomTown has Boerries' to his team. The message mostly damns Yahoo with faint praise, which is all that seems to be available for such unsung products as:

* Yahoo! Go 2.0

* Yahoo oneSearch

* "Winning AT&T, T-Moble and Virgin and therefore the US mobile search distribution race," as if buyers use the built-in search on their phones instead of Google.

BoomTown adds, "Already wealthy from selling several companies, the entrepreneurial exec ... has family issues requiring that he spend a lot of time in his native Germany."

Boerries' departure comes on the heels of . Khemlani headed up Yahoo's news and information division.
