XFX Releases New 1.5GB GeForce 9600GT Video Card

In a special edition package, XFX has put in a humongous 1.5GB of video memory with its GeForce 9600GT graphics card and bundled Ubisoft's first person shooter, Far Cry 2 in the package. The 9600GT features 96 processing cores, and Nvidia PhysX, CUDA and PureVideo HD technologies, and incorporates Nvidia unified architecture, full DX Shader Model 4.0 support, 128-bit floating point high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting and Quantum Effects physics processing. The release adds that the GeForce 9600GT supports resolutions of up to 2560x1600 and is SLI ready.

Far Cry 2 has been built using Ubisoft's new Dunia engine and allows players to roam in 50 square kilometers of African terrain. Players must act as mercenaries and fight other mercenaries, bandits and warlords as they search for a ruthless international arms dealer. The game has already garnered praise from critics for realistic and immersive gameplay.

XFX 9600 1.5GB Far Cry 2 Edition graphics card will be available through Rashi Peripherals and its 53 branches across India at an estimated street price of Rs.10,000 (US$203) with 3 years warranty.
