When first arrived, it supported only the company's latest TiVos--the Premiere (Flash-based) models. Now, the newly-universal app supports TiVo Series 3, TiVo HD, and TiVo XL devices--though in a limited fashion. Owners of all compatible TiVos can use the app to browse the programming guide, schedule recordings, and remotely control their TiVos, only Premiere owners can access their ToDo List, Season Pass Manager, and list of saved recordings.

Also new in the TiVo app is the ability to try out its features in Guest Mode, even if you're not on a local network shared by a TiVo DVR.

The app is free and requires iOS 4 or later.
