Hillis crushed Philadelphia Eagles running back Michael Vick, earning 66 percent of the vote in the bracket. He defeated Ravens middle linebacker Ray Lewis, Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, and most surprising at all, Super Bowl MVP Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on his way to the final round.

Referred to as "The Avalanche" by some, Hillis had an exceptional season in 2010 as he rushed for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Following the announcement, Hillis tackled the so-called Madden Curse head-on.

"For people to believe in this so-called curse, I can't wait to prove people wrong," Hillis said. "From what I believe and where I am in my spiritual life, it would be good to prove them wrong in that sense."

Madden NFL 12 will be out August 31.
