Cargo-handling solutions provider for the airline industry, Telair International Inc., has gone live with SSA Global?s enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.

A Teleflex company, Telair International began using SSA ERP (LN) at its Singapore depot repair facility in late March and at its Oxnard, California facility in early January this year.

The SSA ERP (LN) implementations are part of a multiyear plan to consolidate all Telair operations on one global ERP system that will enable Telair to substantially reduce operational costs, said SSA Global.

?The flexibility and capabilities of the new solution are already improving our efficiency and providing a new level of visibility into our operations,? said Tony Williams, global ERP/IT manager, Telair International.

Telair, which maintains 24x7 facilities in four continents, positions itself as a ?one-stop shop? for all cargo-handling solutions ? wide-body cargo loading, narrow-body cargo loading, cargo containment products including blast resistant ULDs, and after market services. It also provides hardened ballistic panels and cockpit doors and is a leader in actuators for commercial and military aircraft.

The SSA ERP (LN), which was piloted in the second half of 2004, provided Telair with a wide range of benefits, including more timely and pertinent information delivered to users? desktops, streamlined order taking, comprehensive transaction traceability, and enhanced after market service.

SSA ERP (LN) is based on an architecture that provides web-based user interface, eases the transition to a service oriented architecture, and enables standards-based cross application integration. It offers manufacturing capabilities, including true lean-based manufacturing, improved freight management, and comprehensive field service capabilities.

In addition, SSA ERP (LN) embeds specific solution templates for its primary target industries, including automotive, aerospace and defense, hi-tech electronics, and industrial machinery and equipment.
