Take 2's holiday slate stays stable, XCOM release unknown

15.04.2010
Take 2 had its annual stockholder meeting today, which was shorter and less information-filled that its quarterly investor calls. However, there were a few items of note raised during the call.

During last month's , Max Payne 3, L.A. Noire, and Civilization 5 were listed as 2010 releases, with the caveat that one game may slip to 2011. This time around, all three games were referred to as 2010 titles, without any disclaimer, which may indicate that Take 2 has softened its stance on delaying one of the big three.

Discussing 2011 releases, only one game was mentioned--Spec Ops: The Line. While the speaker mentioned that other 2011 releases would be announced during the year, the newly announced XCOM was conspicuous in its absence from the 2011 release slate. XCOM did not have a release date attached to its announcement. We've contacted a 2K Games representative to find out why XCOM wasn't discussed as a 2011 launch.

What do you guys think? Is it possible we'll see a blockbuster-filled holiday season from Take 2 followed by a XCOM-less 2011?
