Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) said it has become the leading international Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) service provider in Asia Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ).

According to IDC's latest Asia Pacific Semiannual Fixed-Line Telecom Services Tracker, first half 2008 report, SingTel, including its wholly owned subsidiary Optus, has secured the largest revenue market share in the region.

The telco's service is based on Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology which is an intelligent and scalable system that supports tens of thousands of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) securely while providing customers with the ability to prioritise traffic through different classes of service.
