Sega getting back in the game through 'Vision'

06.10.2008
Sega, best remembered for their 'Dreamcast' console, might be finally getting down to churning out a gaming device, or what everyone likes to call a 'portable entertainment device.' The Sega Vision is set to be launched sometime next year if Internet pundits are to be believed. Although it will play games, it is mainly aimed at being a full-fledged media player. It will be able to play movies and music, allow viewing photos and reading eBooks and also function as a portable TV player (thanks to its built-in TV tuner).

However, as looks go, the Vision is not exactly the stuff that dreams are made of. It is clunky and boasts of a design that looks more 2000 than 2008. When Sega does launch the 'Vision', it looks like it will be slotted as a Sony PSP or a Nintendo DS killer but since it will only be able to play Java games, we don't know how much justice it can do to that tag.

Though, we can't deny it feels good to hear that Sega is finally getting back into the game.
