SecurEnvoy launches SecurMail solutions

17.10.2008
SecurEnvoy has announced the launch of SecurMail, the only solution which enables accessing encrypted emails using two factor authentication. SecurMail uses a patented approach that doesn't suffer from the complexity of traditional digital certificate-based solutions, and doesn't get blocked by email virus checkers that can't decrypt messages.

Email has evolved into one of the most important methods of communication in the business world today, enabling organizations to share information and interact with customers, employees, clients and partners. However, the growth of email traffic has been matched by an increasing security threat, and email has become a serious potential weak spot in corporate IT systems. As a number of high-profile cases in recent months have demonstrated, the exposure of an organization's most sensitive information can result in financial loss, legal ramifications, and brand damage.

Securing email communication, therefore, has to be a priority for any IT department especially as email, no matter how well protected, is more easily hacked than well-secured web sites. "SecurMail offers enterprise level features scalability, customization and performance for the smallest of enterprises to the largest" says Nitin Kathuria, Director - Operations and Strategy, Lancers e-Risk Solutions.

SecurMail is simple to use, just press the "send secure" button in your Outlook tool bar and it will be prompted for the mobile phone number of the recipient(s) if it isn't already in your address book for sending 2 Factor Authentication passcode. No plug-ins is required at the receiving end so the recipient does not need to update or download anything extra to be able to read the mail. All we need is Internet access, an e-mail account and a mobile phone.

SecurMail is strong, affordable and this solution is helpful to companies especially who want a powerful and simple means of authenticating end users. There is no need to enroll or pre-agree to receive sensitive data and it is compatible with any recipients' workstation.

With all the obstacles organizations have to overcome in order to use web-based system to send email securely, and with the growing security risk that email communication presents, it won't be long before organizations look for an alternative, safer and more effective solution. Tokenless two-factor authentication looks likely to be the most obvious alternative.
