Roleplayers' Realm II: Final Fantasy IV, The Elder Scrolls V

22.04.2011
What does Final Fantasy IV mean to you?

To me, it's the Final Fantasy that I picked up shortly after finished the sixth and seventh entries, then put right back down again before finally finishing it on the GBA a decade later. For special guest Christian Nutt, it's the RPG that practically defined his RPG fandom. And then there's Ray, who hasn't quite finished it yet (shame, shame).

With the latest re-release on the market now (), the three of us get together to reflect on the game that still defines Japanese RPGs some 20 years later. Of course, it doesn't take us long to stray into tangents like our vain attempt to directly compare each Final Fantasy to each Dragon Quest, but that's okay. If you're listening to this podcast, you'll probably like those sorts of tangents.

For the second segment, PC RPG nut Jason Wilson joins me to chat about the time we've spent with The Witcher 2, Dungeons Siege III and The Elder Scrolls V. Here I must apologize, as there are a couple points where the audio quality dips a bit. I promise that each instance only lasts a couple minutes apiece, but you should be aware.

A number of you have inquired as to whether this podcast will be popping up on iTunes anytime soon. Well, I can tell you that it has been submitted, and it should be up momentarily. If it isn't, I'm going to go crack some skulls at Apple. Until then, you can access it through our direct link below or by manually subscribing via our XML RSS Feed (below).
