Remains of the Day: The day the music died

Apple drove the Siri to the Chevy, but the Chevy was dry; Steve Ballmer sang for the king and queen in a coat he borrowed from Steve Jobs; and a verdict is returned on Apple's latest power adapter. The remainders for Wednesday, June 20, 2012 caught the last train for the coast.

The Eyes Free car integration mode that Apple mentioned during its recent WWDC keynote looks like it will first arrive on domestic cars. The Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Sonic will be two of the first cars to boast the feature, which lets you control Siri by pressing a button on the steering wheel. That way you can say "Siri, give me directions to grandma's house," or, in an emergency, "Siri, take the wheel!"

Someone really should tell Microsoft that secrets can hurt feelings. It seems Redmond wasn't entirely forthcoming with its PC manufacturing partners about its plans to build the Surface tablet. Granted, those manufacturing partners now know exactly what we all know about the device's price and availability.
