Rare footage from iPhone production line revealed

A rare glimpse into the iPhone production line at Apple's Foxconn factories in China has been released.

The video was filmed in Foxconn's Zhengzhou plant, where Ynet reports that over 70 per cent of Apple's iPhone are manufactured.

In the video, we see a and the CEO of Foxconn, Terry Gou, on a tour of the iPhone production line in the factory. provides a translated summary of the video.

Gou uses a helicopter ride to demonstrate the scale of the factory, mentioning that it covers 5.6 square kilometres, which is the largest area living area in Zhengzhou for its 115,000 workers. Gou notes that the wasteland around the factory has been kept for future expansion of the plant.

Gou takes the reporter to the area of the factory that manufactures the iPhone 4S. Gou says that 'his' factory is the best in the world, and produces 10,000 motherboards a day. One section that makes parts is 148 meters long, says Gou.

Due to the secretive nature of Apple, it is rare to see any footage from the production line of its products.
