Printed electronics facility opens in North-East England

The (CPI) has opened the doors its Integrated Smart Systems (ISS) facility in Sedgefield, Country Durham: a £2m development with the ability to created printed electronic projects using a setup similar to a traditional print press.

CPI says that the facility is geared up to produce projects includoing point of sale materials, toys, games, novelty items, smart packaging and intelligent sensors. .

The facility includes a £1.5m Nilpeter press, which has the capability to handle multiple printing techniques on to backing such as paper, card, films and foil with thickness ranging from 25-370microns. This is supported with a host of printing, curing, cutting, and pick and place tools.

CPI says that the ISS line is able to produce demonstrator units and prototypes, as well as performing pilot production and full runs.
