The Philippines can capture more outsourcing contracts if it collaborates with India, which currently dominates the multimillion-dollar global business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.

In an interview with Computerworld Philippines, George Kintanar, adviser to Rep. Simeon Kintanar, chairman of the House of Representatives' committee on information and communications technology, said the Philippine government is currently communicating with India regarding a possible collaboration.

Kintanar, who was a guest at a recent forum organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, disclosed during a question-and-answer session that he submitted a report to India, which cites the strengths and weaknesses of both India and the Philippines in the BPO field, and added that 'India is now interested in joining forces with the Philippines.'
