Outsourcing strategy seeks finder's fee

Filipinos working for American companies stand to get a sizable commission by simply convincing their employers to outsource to the Philippines instead of India or anywhere else in the world.

A marketing proposal by the Philippines-United States Business Council (PUSBC) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is looking at rewarding these Filipinos by entitling them to a percentage of consummated business deals.

'We are looking at the amount of the finders fees from an average of 2 percent to 3 percent of the cost of the (outsourcing) contract. If it's a 10-million-dollar contract, you get three percent (3 percent) of that and all for doing nothing but just referring on the business back home,' said PUSBC chairman George Kintanar in an interview with Computerworld Philippines.
