Oracle Corp. at the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco next week plans to focus on its "Data Hub" technology for business intelligence, content management for the masses, grid computing, and integration, an Oracle official said on Thursday.

A preview of Oracle "Product Data Hub" technology is planned. The technology is intended to provide information about products on a user"s price list, said Robert Shimp, vice president of technology marketing, in Thursday. The company previously has unveiled a Customer Data Hub, which synchronizes applications to provide information about products on a user"s price list.

Also planned to be highlighted at the show is an enterprise content management system intended for general users, as opposed to being just for specialists, Shimp said. "It"s an important announcement for Oracle because we"re the leaders in information management and content management represents a very large market opportunity, specifically," Shimp said.

Oracle plans to talk about enhancements in grid technologies and its intentions to use grid in SOAs (service-oriented architectures). The Oracle 10g database features grid capabilities. Shimp said he could not provide a figure on how many customers have deployed the database in a grid configuration.

Oracle at the show also plans to unveil Oracle Integration, an integration offering built around the company"s application server and focused on deployment of SOA.

The company expects more than 20,000 attendees at the show, which combines OpenWorld with the AppsWorld conference.
