Nintendo president to speak at Game Developers Conference

Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. will deliver a keynote address at this year's Game Developers Conference on the subject of "discovering new development opportunities."

With the company delivering in 2008 while facing its due to a holiday season decidedly lacking in AAA software, Nintendo is a company that people desperately want to hear from. The world will get an opportunity to find out where the company is, and where it will be heading when the company's president, Satoru Iwata, delivers one of the keynote addresses at this year's .

The topic of Iwata's address will be "discovering new development opportunities." While it doesn't offer any concrete details about announcements, a topic like that offers up many opportunities for the company to drop hints on their "new opportunities." Nintendo's last GDC keynote was in 2007, when focused largely on development ideals, but delivered little in the way of blockbuster announcements. The official press release is below.

SAN FRANCISCO-Jan. 27, 2009- Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. will deliver a keynote address at the 2009 Game Developers Conference, kicking-off the main conference's schedule of lectures, panel discussions and roundtables that provide the central forum for learning, inspiration, and networking in the games industry. The address, "Discovering New Development Opportunities" marks Iwata-san's first return to the GDC keynote stage since 2006. The Game Developers Conference takes place March 23-27 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
