Qualcomm files suit against Broadcom

Qualcomm Inc. has filed a third lawsuit against Broadcom Corp., asking a federal judge in San Diego to freeze the production of wireless chip sets by its rival. This suit brings the number of patents that Qualcomm has accused Broadcom of violating to 10 since May 2005. The latest lawsuit charges that Broadcom misappropriated trade secrets and infringed patents.

Hackers attack Florida bank sites

The Web sites of three regional Florida banks -- Premier Bank, Wakulla Bank and Capital City Bank -- were compromised last month by hackers. The attackers hacked servers run by the Internet service provider that hosted the banks' Web sites and redirected traffic to similar sites on a bogus server. Users were asked to enter credit card numbers, personal identification numbers and other sensitive information.

Microsoft Exchange mail services debut

Microsoft Corp. has brought out four managed services it gained from its purchase of FrontBridge Technologies Inc. last year. Microsoft said it has rebranded the e-mail managed services, which include Exchange Hosted Filtering, Exchange Hosted Encryption, Exchange Hosted Archive and Exchange Hosted Continuity. They are being sold as add-ons to the hosted version of Microsoft Exchange Server.
