NCR technicians get pay increase

07.04.2006
NCR has completed negotiations with the Australian Services Union (ASU), with most of the affected NCR customer engineers receiving pay rises of between 5 and 9 percent.

Last month, NCR field service engineers walked off the job in New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland seeking a better pay deal.

The ASU claimed 90 of a total 150 NCR employees had taken strike action. NCR claims only 50 employees were involved.

The current Enterprise Agreement met ASU pay, allowances and rostering requirements.

NCR will lodge the agreement with the Office of the Employment Advocate (OEA) within the next 14 days. As a result of this agreement, all negotiations have been finalized.

ASU executive president Sally McManus said the NCR field service engineers now consider they have a good relationship with their employer after fighting for 15 years to get a new Enterprise Agreement.
