Officials from the Australian Services Union have agreed to meet with NCR Thursday for further negotiations.

ASU secretary Sally McManus said a decision was made to suspend the industrial action as a sign of good faith.

" We are prepared to enter negotiations, however if there is no resolution all states will take further action next week," she added.

On Monday the Australian Services Union (ASU) said more than 80 percent of NCR technicians in New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia had walked off the job. Victorian staff yesterday announced they would also stop work this Saturday if the dispute was not resolved.

"If there is a result no-one will go out," said McManus. "We were offered a 3 percent wage increase -- we want more, but we are open to how that is achieved. We understand the company's constraints coming from head office in the US and hope they can package deals that are enough to keep up with the cost of living."
