The Ministry of Defence is bolstering its defence equipment and support business management information systems.

The MoD's equipment and support information systems operation provides application services that operate in support of current operations, business management and administration information systems.

The MoD has brought in BMT Defence Services, which will partner with IT specialist IPL, to "address known technical update requirements, resolve legacy issues and improve usability for all users across the operation", said the MoD.

Both BMT Defence Services and IPL already provide software services to the MoD. The partners will identify and address "underlying data coherence issues, and actively rationalise and integrate existing tools and data sets in line with a framework architecture", said the MoD. This will help "reduce long term support and development costs".

a contract extension for cyber security services from BT Global Services. The seven-year contract builds extra capabilities on top of an existing solution that BT provides to protect the MoD's global IT estate.
