Miyamoto: next console 'likely' to keep motion controls

21.10.2009
Here's a revelation that should surprise absolutely no one. While chatting with (via ), Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto surmised that the company's next home console would probably utilize motion controls, when he stated "[...]while we don't have any concrete plans for what we'll be doing with hardware in the future, what I can say is that, my guess is that because we found this interface to be so interesting, I think it would be likely that we would try to make that same functionality perhaps more compact and perhaps even more cost-efficient."

Let the speculation begin. Do you think we'll see smaller Wii Remotes without add-ons like the Nunchuk and ? Will the "cost-efficiency" of this motion control be passed onto us? Or is Nintendo just setting up a red herring to really surprise us with a completely new concept for the next console?
