The company has not yet announced official ship dates for the two technologies, the representative said. But the launch event, planned for the San Francisco Bay Area, is intended as an opportunity to highlight the work customers and partners have been doing with Silverlight and Expression Studio, and to tout features of the two releases. Silverlight is Microsoft's plug-in technology for rich media applications. has been slated to offer offline capabilities such as search engine optimization and multi-touch support, as well as hardware-based graphics acceleration.

Expression Studio has featured Microsoft's Expression suite of application design tools  for building Windows and Web interfaces.
