Metal Gear Solid director to speak at GDC next month

The organizers of the Game Developers Conference another major keynote speaker for the expo being held next month at San Francisco's Moscone Center. On Thursday, March 26, at 10:30AM, Kojima will deliver a speech entitled "Solid Game Design: Making the 'Impossible' Possible." In the speech, Kojima is expected to talk about how he overcame obstacles in the development of the critically-acclaimed PS3 game as well as the previous iterations of the series. This will be Kojima's first speech at GDC.

Kojima joins Nintendo President as the other GDC keynote speaker. While many speeches at GDC are post-mortems on finished games, developers and other speakers often use the show to make major announcements. With Kojima publicly stating he won't have as much of a role in the , this may be an opportunity to find out what "" the famed developer will focus on next. Metal Gear Solid Creator Kojima To Keynote GDC 2009

Organizers have revealed that Hideo Kojima, Corporate Officer, Executive Producer and Director of Kojima Productions, will deliver a keynote address at next months 2009 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.

Known for giving rise to the stealth action game genre with his creation of the acclaimed Metal Gear series more than two decades ago, Kojima's keynote will focus on conquering various development obstacles with creative game design, using the driving game design philosophies behind the Metal Gear series as reference.

The address, "Solid Game Design: Making the 'Impossible' Possible," marks Kojima's debut appearance at the GDC. The Game Developers Conference takes place March 23-27 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
