Maxis and IBM Malaysia sign five-year deal

Malaysian mobile Telco Maxis Communications (Maxis) has said it wants to fast-track its IT transformation by signing a five-year IT services contract with technology giant IBM Malaysia.

Maxis chief executive officer Sandip Das said this relationship would enable Maxis to speed the transformation of the company's IT services and solutions to deliver multifaceted, innovative and enriching experiences to its subscriber base of over 11 million in Malaysia.

Das said that under the agreement, IBM Malaysia would support Maxis' transformation of key business processes over the next five years, including customer relationship management, service delivery platform to support value-added and data services, business intelligence and dealer management. In addition, Maxis and IBM will also jointly engage in innovation projects with a focus on extending existing business capabilities to address new market opportunities and drive business process innovation to achieve new benchmarks in service quality.

The Maxis Group currently operates in three key Asian markets--Malaysia, India and Indonesia--with a 5,000 strong workforce, collectively serving more than 24 million customers and offering a comprehensive range of communications services.
