Interplay announces MDK2 for Wii, MDK2 HD for PC

25.06.2010
Details are still scarce, but according to a press release issued by Interplay and Beamdog earlier today, MDK2, BioWare's quirky cult-classic third-person shooter, will see a re-release on the Nintendo Wii as a downloadable WiiWare title, as well as a high-definition PC port, aptly titled MDK2 HD. The re-releases are currently slated for Winter 2010.

"MDK2 was a great title to work on and we're happy to have some of the original team working on these new versions," said Trent Oster, former BioWare employee and co-founder of developer Beamdog.

Originally released on the PC and Sega Dreamcast in 2000, MDK2, the sequel to Shiny Entertainment's MDK, was a successful third-person shooter noted for its quirky sense of humor and multi-character gameplay. This will be the first installment in the MDK franchise since the revised release of MDK2: Armageddon for the Playstation 2 in 2001.
