Intel debuts home entertainment PC in the Philippines

With increasing broadband penetration allowing more users access to digital content, chip maker Intel thinks there are Filipinos are ready enough for the 'digital home' experience.

Intel launched Friday its home entertainment PC, hoping to lure home users into buying a small CPU that can do the job of several consumer appliances.

'The average Filipino home typically contains devices such as PC, TV, DVD, radio, and hi-fi audio systems. The home entertainment PC combines these devices into a single system with the ability to do more,' said Ricky Banaag, country manager Intel Microelectronics Philippines.
