IBM Global Services this week unveiled services to enable IT managers to plan, design, implement, and manage SOAs (service-oriented architectures).

The "asset-based services" feature IBM software code, IP (intellectual property), and best practices. IBM said its new services are based on industry-specific platforms to enable the quickest possible deployment of new technology.

Among the services, Business Enablement Services for SOA will identify how an SOA can meet a customer"s goals, whereas Design Services for SOA will help customers develop a plan and an architectural design for their SOA.

Also part of the asset-based offerings are Implementation Services for SOA, for deploying targeted aspects of an SOA, and Management Services for SOA, which provides ongoing performance monitoring, maintenance, and requirements verification.
