Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) and Optus have formed a partnership to sell joint solutions to corporate Australia.

The agreement outlines two separate sales opportunities for HP and Optus with "sell-with" and "sell-through" facets.

During sell-with, Optus and HP will enter jointly into tenders involving a range of converged telecommunications and IT requirements in order to offer an integrated solution.

Sell-through offers a separate set of bundled solutions for corporate and SMB environments, including everything from IT hardware and telecoms provision through to a fully managed infrastructure service.

Optus HP account director Ruth Gaines claims the partnership is a strong addition to the current relationship with Optus.

"The tie-in offers HP some new opportunities to provide genuine, converged solutions that directly address customer needs," Gaines said.

"Pitching as "one vendor" from the outset of the tender process ensures that the right options are offered and the right decisions made at the start."

Optus general manager channel sales and marketing, Peter Williamson, said the aim of establishing Optus Business partnerships is to offer customers a larger range of solutions.

"HP"s range of products cover all areas of business and are suited to a range of business sizes which makes them an ideal partner for us," Williamson said.
