HP to showcase its SDN capabilities at Interop Tokyo

HP will be showcasing its strategy and developments in the software-defined networks (SDN) space at the technology conference Interop in Tokyo on Friday.

The technology giant believes SDNs can replace single-tenant architectures and manual management routines of today's networks, reducing the deployment time of data centre applications from months to minutes.

At the event, HP customer DreamWorks Animation will share a case study of how it is using HP computing and networking platforms, according to Amol Mitra, vice president and general manager, HP Networking, HP APJ.

"Leveraging on HP and the cloud, they have revolutionised the way they collaborate across multiple geographies to produce massive compute-intensive animated films such as Puss in Boots, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Madagascar 3," said Mitra.

By optimising storage and bandwidth challenges, DreamWorks increased the number of movies it released per year from one to three.

HP has been steadily releasing products in the networking space in the past few months.
