Hewlett-Packard has bought CGNZ, the New Zealand-owned arm of Cap Gemini, according to Computerworld New Zealand sources.

It is understood the documentation relating to the sale is to be signed Wednesday.

An HP spokesman did not return calls by deadline.

CGNZ has approximately 200 staff in New Zealand and it is understood the attraction for HP was a major deal CGNZ deal signed earlier this year with the Ministry of Social Development.

The news confirms speculation earlier this year that HP was looking to buy CGNZ.
