House of the Dead: Overkill Coming to PS3 in 3D

Sega's foul-mouthed zombie-blasting Wii title The House of the Dead: Overkill is heading to Sony's console this October.

Sega has announced that PlayStation 3 owners are getting a special Move and 3D-enabled version of The House of the Dead: Overkill this October, featuring an "extended cut" of the game.

The seven stages of the original Wii title have been remastered and HD-ified, and two new scenarios have been added. Sega also promises new game modes and the requisite Trophy support.

As a former Wii title, Move support is to be expected, but the new version of the game also features full 3D graphics for those with the hardware to support it. The game will be on show at E3, so expect more news on it then.

" for the PlayStation 3 system will send players to the shrieking mad heart of mutant mayhem," said Gary Knight of Sega, clearly rather excited. "This time we went further, faster and bloodier than before. We extended everything, even the title."

House of the Dead: Overkill is the former world record holder for the most times the word "f*ck" appeared in a video game -- a record surpassed by Mafia 2 last year. With two whole new scenarios, though, there's plenty of space for Sega to reclaim the illustrious title. (Thanks for this interesting factoid, .)
