HMRC is changing the payroll system to rely on more real-time information. Currently, employers submit their tax returns annually, but from April 2012, employers will have to automatically submit tax codes and deductions electronically to HMRC when employees are paid.

A representative from HMRC will be taking questions from payroll customers at the UKOUG Conference Series PeopleSoft 2011, which takes place in London on 22 and 23 June.

"This session is a must for all payroll customers, it is your opportunity to hear direct from HMRC and to ask your nagging questions about the changes," the UKOUG said.

The conference will also host senior directors from Oracle, including Marc Weintraub, director of PeopleSoft product management and development, who will be outlining the company's roadmap for its PeopleSoft financial and human capital management (HCM) software.

In addition, Pret-a-Manger, the University of Cambridge and Oxfam will be among customers presenting case studies at the event.
