Speaking during the Awards Presentation Ceremony, Tsang said fierce competition amongst 740 entries this year demonstrates strong support among members of the industry and the community.

He cited ICT's ability to empower people to become more mobile and pointed out how the new mobility applications are designed for fun and for functionality and always with end-users in mind.

Tsang is set to take up the chairmanship of the Steering Committee on Innovation and Technology which is focused on streamlining the efforts and ideas of industry, academia and research institutions.

It is expected that this initiative will help the government to better co-ordinate the formulation and implementation of policies for the industry. In addition, it will also help promote greater synergy among the ICT sector.
