It's a logical step for Google to add Java to GAE, giving developers an all-Google environment to have apps run on Android as well as the Web.

Oddly enough, Wednesday's release of the Android code at the Google Developer Day in Bangalore, India. At the same conference Google made another announcement that Java will soon be supported on Google App Engine (GAE).
