Ericsson opts for ASG to supply hardware in Australia

ASG Group has scored a three-year, multimillion dollar deal to supply managed services for telecommunications outfit, Ericsson. The Western Australia-based integrator will supply service desk, server and desktop services.

Australian's Northern region general manager, Tim Selfridge, said the latest win provided an opportunity to expand its managed service business in the New South Wales market. "We are delivering services to one of Ericsson's major corporate customers and they needed us to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to their requirements," he said. "It's a further proof point we are capable of delivering services on a national scale."

Selfridge said the customer's chief criterion was working with a national partner it could trust.

"It was important to Ericsson that we had strong customer reference ability so it could see where and how we are delivering our service, and the level of customer satisfaction," he said. "It's a fairly large-scale and complex deal and again we were competing against multinational organizations."

Selfridge said he would look to recruit more staff within the desktop services, server and service desk areas.

"We will be leveraging our current resources in NSW, ACT and Queensland, and we will be bringing on some additional staff," he said.
