It was revealed at the press conference that the new line-up utilizes Epson's new Micro Piezo print head that delivers perfectly spherical dots with high precision dot placement, delivering laser-quality image resolutions of up to 5,760 by 1,440 dots-per-inch (dpi). With this new print head that sports 360 nozzles per inch (as compared to 180 nozzles previously), SMEs are able to achieve an increased printing speed - at laser default quality - of up to 2 pages per second. Epson's Durabrite Ultra, resin-coated pigment inks, were also demonstrated which ensure quick drying of ink and resistance to water and smudges. The new printers are further equipped with Epson's INKdividual cartridges which helps organizations save on toner costs. Out of the line-up of printers, the T40W and TX600FW are also Wi-Fi compatible.
