Dell Inc. has announced the appointment of Joseph Kremer as its new managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Kremer was previously vice president of sales for Dell"s preferred accounts (or mid-market) division in the U.S. and replaces David Miller, who was recently appointed joint managing director for Dell China.

Kremer said Dell A/NZ recently became the region"s number one commercial notebook vendor.

"Much of the momentum for our recent growth is coming from businesses and the public sector," he said.

Kremer has more than 19 years industry experience, joining Dell as vice president of sales, marketing and sales operations for its software and peripherals business in the US, where he drove more than double-digit growth during 2003.

Before joining Dell, Kremer was vice president of marketing for CDW, a provider of technology solutions for business, government and education industries in the US.
