Ciena appoints A/NZ boss

Network specialist, , has promoted Wayne Moulton to lead its Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) contingent as managing director in order to drive the companys strategic vision in the region.

Moulton is also tasked with developing new business and building on existing relationships with customers such as AAPT, Australia-Japan Cable, Southern Cross Cable, Telstra Clear, VERN, and Vodafone NZ.

Moulton will help to strengthen our focus on the A/NZ markets, Ciena Asia-Pacific (APAC) vice-president, Anthony McLachlan, said. [He] joined us earlier in the year in a pan-APAC role working on numerous projects, and I am pleased to have [him] on the team and now leading the A/NZ business.

Prior to Ciena, Moulton spent three years at Alcatel-Lucent, most recently as marketing and strategy communications global customers vice-president. He was also employed by Nortel for 17 years before that, where he focused on the Australian market and key initiatives in Asia.

Looking forward, Moulton said, A/NZ is on the verge of leading the world when it comes to broadband speed with the National Broadband Network and Ultra-Fast Broadband networks just around the corner.
