Econ Technologies invites you to rock your backups like a roadie--as in all-access. Announced Tuesday at Macworld Expo, the update of the automated synchronization and backup application ChronoSync to version 4.0 and the release of companion product ChronoAgent for Mac version 1.0 allows for bootable backups and faster syncing.

gives you full access to the entire hard drive so any files can be copied. Nothing is off limits. It also features a modified Sync Engine logic to use less memory and scan files faster.

is a brand new utility that runs on a destination Mac and communicates directly with ChronoSync, bypassing file sharing and giving users full access to the destination Mac.

ChronoAgent is not needed to backup with ChronoSync, but users having permission problems with a destination Mac or server, or those who need to match Users and Groups between two different Macs can benefit from using the applications in tandem. ChronoAgent only communicates with ChronoSync, so you need to have ChronoSync 4 installed in order to communicate with ChronoAgent.

ChronoSync 4.0 costs $40 and ChronoAgent for Mac is $10. Existing ChronoSync users can update for free.
