Capital Letters Go Casual With Easygoing Hecubus Font

25.06.2012
Relaxed as handwriting without being informal, Lauren Ashpole's Hecubus font evokes a feeling of summer. Hecubus is free for personal use, $15 to the for commercial use.

Ashpole has achieved the perfect balance between taking it easy and getting it done with this highly-legible TrueType font. Its inward-curving downstrokes bend like palm trees against a light sea breeze. The hand-drawn look appears casual and effortless, not careless.

Hecubus comes in a full character set, including numbers and a smart makeshift `okina (use the grave accent key) suitable for writing Hawaiian words. Plus, although the character style is the same, the cap height is slightly greater than the x-height, allowing you to capitalize subtly. Hecubus can easily be used for subheads without losing any definition, but may become difficult to read any smaller than 10 point, purely as a result of being all caps.
