The move will help the business intelligence company build out its enterprise information management strategy by adding data quality tools to its portfolio, according to officials from San Jose-based Business Objects.
Data quality tools are designed to cleanse data after it is extracted from back-end data sources, to ensure that it's correct before being sent to a data warehouse for analysis.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter.
