Tapestry is a software suite that resides on Brocade's SilkWorm switches. It is targeted at block-level data and includes Application Resource Manager software, which can dynamically provision and activate application resources on servers.
"NuView's depth in enterprise file management, along with their skilled engineering, customer support and sales teams, will help Brocade deliver the next generation of breakthrough efficiencies for customers with large and growing amounts of file data," said Brocade CEO Michael Klayko.
NuView sells five products, including its flagship StorageX application, which aggregates available storage on arrays and can migrate and replicate data. The private company was founded in 2000.
The company claims to have 400 enterprise customers, and its partners include Microsoft Corp., EMC Corp. and Network Appliance Inc. NuView also provides professional services such as consulting, maintenance, installation, training and support.
"NuView's solutions for file data management are an ideal complement to Brocade's Tapestry family of products," said NuView Founder and CEO Rahul Mehta.
