'Battlefield 3 Doing Well, Sold 5 Million Copies,' Says EA

31.10.2011
It's been just about a week since blasted its way onto store shelves (and EA's oft-unliked Origin service), and according to the publisher's "internal estimates," it's already sold five million copies out of the ten million it's shipped. Which, you know, is pretty darn good, and makes for the biggest Battlefield launch to date. (For reference, notes that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 initially sold 2.3 million units at its launch last year.)

Like everyone else with a game console and a pulse, we're anxious to see how these numbers will stack up to Modern Warfare 3?'s impending ultra-expensive launch in November.
