09.08.2006
A focus group has been formed by the Australian Defence Information and Electronic Systems Association (ADIESA) to act as a forum for discussion of Defence's tactical information.

The group, called the Tactical Information Environment (TIE) focus group, is facilitated by Saab System naval systems sales manager Jock McManus and will collaborate with the Australian and New Zealand chapter of the International Data Link Society for 'tactical data link matters'.

An ADIESA spokesperson said the group will focus on TIE data links and communication systems and will be officially launched along with the Australia / New Zealand chapter of the International Data Link Society in 'the near future'.

A Department of Defence representative will sponsor the group which will liaison with focus groups on network/architectures, secure communications and intelligence.
